Day 24 Townsville-Airlie Beach by Emmy

This morning I was the second last person to wake up again but when I did wake up I went straight to the tennis courts to see Bill, Adelaide, Mum and Paddy. At the tennis courts the people at the office gave us the tennis rackets and stuff for free. I shot some goals with the netball and played tennis with Bill. After Dad soaked his sore back in the shower we started driving. Dad always keeps the windows down in donk so it gets a bit cold so Adelaide bought her sleeping bag in the car so we both used that. Not long after we left we got fuel for Dad’s car and kept driving. We drove further down the streets and towns and stopped at another place called pie face to get some lunch. We stopped at Bowen because Dad thought that he would get the some sea food. While he was doing that we played on the playground that was there. Dad didn’t end up getting anything because he figured they live next to a beach they can get seafood if they really want to.

We kept driving for a bit longer and we soon arrived at Airlie Beach is were we are staying at Dad’s friend’s house, Luke and Chris. When we arrived, we parked the float and put blocks of wood under it so it doesn’t roll forward because there yard is on a hill. Dad knows Luke from school and they also go to lightning ridge together. At 3:15 Luke had to go pick up Millie (his daughter) from school so while he went there we put our swimmers on. We met Millie who is in year 8 and followed Luke to the pool. Jess went shopping, Dad and Luke went tot he pub and the rest off us played in the pool. We all tried to get each other wet and splash each other. Tilly and I got Bill in the water and eventually I pushed Tilly in which she isn’t happy about. Adelaide, Bill and I played keepers off with the football until the lifeguard said they were closing the pool. The whole way to the car Tilly was trying to trip me over because she didn’t like being wet.

We got the others and drove back to the house where we met Chris and Adam. We sat around listening to the music and had chips while we waited for the lasagna to cook. We set up the table and had lasagna, salad and garlic bread. After we finished tea Chris bought out dessert which we weren’t expecting and it tasted and looked like something you would get at a restaurant. I think it was sticky date with ice cream and strawberries. Jess entered us 4 older kids in another horse competition like the man from snowy river but it is called “Man of the land.” We then went to bed. Mum, Dad and Paddy are sleeping in the spare room in the house.
GOODNIGHT.
