Day 17 Hann river roadhouse - The Lions Den by Emmy

While Jess and I were still in bed an emu was walking through peoples camps including our’s, it was very quiet so Bill was trying to hand feed it…

Dad officially stole Bill’s shorts…

After we all woke up we had some of the breaky that Jackie had made us the day before and then Bill, Mum and Dad cleaned the air filter on Mum’s car. Dad must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed because there was a lot of swearing for no reason and he didn’t have patience’s to peel a hard boiled egg so he through it at the float and now Tilly is doing it.

On the way to Laura we came across a snake which is now dead, a dead echidna and a goanna all in about 5 minutes. When we got to Laura we sat down on a bench and tried ringing about 20 different caravan parks or big 4’s that we can stay at for 3 nights but we had no luck so we are still going to Cairns and we will see what happens.

We decided to stay at the lion’s den hotel instead. After Dad set up camp we drove to Cooktown to learn about captain cook. Before we leant about him we found a water park and we all played there and at the exercise park. Bill, Tilly and I also had a hand stand competition.We read about him and the aboriginal’s we then went to the pub while mum walked around town.
We bought some stuff at the souvenir shop and soon drove back to camp.

We had tea at the pub and listened to some singers that Dad knew. We put the left over pizza’s in a box and got some stickers and shirts from the souvenir shop. We had a shower and then Adelaide, Bill, Tilly and I played spit ( a card game) while Dad talked to some people from Albury who were camped opposite us.

We are now going to bed.
