Day 9 Alice Springs By Tilly

Happy birthday Skyla and Larissa!!
This morning we woke up and got some bread to make some toast for breakfast. We ate our toast, then Emily and Adelaide went on the playground. Then Bill and I decided to go and have a play as well.
On the playground Bill and I spent most of our time on the see-saw. We were playing wave cricket on the see-saw. I won. The score was 7 on to 3.

At the moment we are just pulling up at the Fink desert race. The fink desert race is a two day race from Alice Springs to Fink. The actual race starts tomorrow, but the prologue was today. The prologue is a short race that they do to see who goes first tomorrow. The Fink desert race was awesome. There was car races and motorbike races. I was going for number 12, but we didn't see it. I think the motorbikes were faster than the cars. They were ripping up lots of dust and every time they went past us, we had to duck from the dust. We ended up getting dust on half of our selves, and the other was clean.
Dad saw heaps of his friends from back at home near where we live.
Dad was waiting in the line to get a coffee, and he met a man called Brett, and Dad thought he was Corb Lund, a famous country singer. So Dad asked him if he was Corb Lund. He said no, he doesn't sing at all. We ended up getting a photo with him, but he was on his tippy-toes, because Dad told him Corb Lund was a bit taller than him.
This picture is for you Uncle Diesel.
Then we went to West McDonald ranges. Our first stop was at Standley chasm.
When we got there we paid 40 dollars to get in. Then we walked a track for 20 minutes, then we got to a point where it said don't go past this chain, because you could get really hurt or even die.

Our next stop was at Ellery Creek Big Hole. People who live in Alice Springs, call it the Alice Springs beach.
It looked like a nice place to swim, but it was too cold.
After that we drove to Serpentine gorge. By that point Adelaide was very tired. It was a big climb to the look out, but we made it.
From there we could see Standley Chasm. It is the big crack near the top of this photo. Then we walked back and Adelaide was on Dads shoulders.
Then we walked through Serpentine gorge.

Then we got back in the car and drove to Glen Helen. The sun was setting, so we raced down to the gorge and Bill and I were full of energy. Then Emily fell over, and made a hat trick for the last two days. We didn't get really far, because the track was flooded. So we turned around and went back to the Glen Helen resort. We decided to have sausage rolls for tea, because it was getting late.

When we were at the resort we were listening to Chris Aronsten singing some songs for entertainment.
We saw Dad talking to someone again, but this time it was Kay, Diesels Mum.
Now we are at the horse-float, about to go to sleep.

  2. I know. I thought that Danny was just talking to another random person (he's been doing that a bit), until I saw her face. It was really nice to see her. We ended up listening to the music together.
